Logitech G604 vs Logitech G502

When it comes to gaming mice, Logitech is one of the most popular and respected brands on the market. Two of the company’s most popular gaming mice are the Logitech G502 and the Logitech G604. While both mice are designed for gamers, they have some key differences that make them unique. Let’s take a deep dive and compare the G604 and the G502 to see what meets your gaming needs!

Logitech G604 Lightspeed

Logitech G604

The Logitech G604 Lightspeed features a high-precision HERO 25K sensor, which provides up to 25,600 DPI sensitivity and tracking accuracy, making it ideal for fast-paced games. The HERO 25K sensor is also energy efficient, allowing the mouse to last up to 240 hours of continuous gaming on a single AA battery.

Using an AA battery has it’s advantages, allowing the user to replace a drained battery immediately whenever the need arises. If you value rechargeability you should check out Panasonic’s High Capacity Eneloop AA Batteries.

The G604 has 15 programmable buttons, including six thumb buttons, which can be customized using Logitech’s G HUB software. This software allows gamers to program macros and set up button assignments to their preferred functions.

The mouse also features a dual-mode hyper-fast scroll wheel, which can be used for both rapid scrolling and precision scrolling. Additionally, it has a Bluetooth connectivity option, making it easy to switch between devices.

The Logitech G604 is a versatile gaming mouse that offers a high level of customization and precision for gamers who value flexibility and mobility.

  • High-precision HERO 25K sensor with up to 25,600 DPI sensitivity and tracking accuracy
  • Dual-mode hyper-fast scroll wheel for rapid scrolling and precision scrolling
  • 15 programmable buttons, including six thumb buttons
  • Customizable button assignments and macros using Logitech’s G HUB software
  • Bluetooth connectivity for easy switching between devices

  • Ergonomic design with a comfortable grip and thumb rest for extended use.

Logitech G502 Lightspeed

Logitech G502

The Logitech G502 Lightspeed is very similar to the G604. It’s has a similar shape but is slightly smaller in size. It also uses the same HERO 25K sensor as the G604. That means that the G502 also packs the same incredible accuracy as its big sibling, making it a deadly weapon for gamers looking to get their game on point.

It should be noted that there is a less expensive, wired variant of the G502, the Logitech G502 Hero. It is nearly identical to the Lightspeed version but naturally lacks a battery and Bluetooth functionality. Some competitive gamers prefer a wired mouse as it is more dependable. The Logitech G502 Lightspeed can use it’s charging cable to plug directly into a PC, essentially transforming it into a wired mouse. This gives you the best of both worlds–Bluetooth as an option but wired functionality when you need it. It’s worth noting that there is no wired version of the G604, so if you need wired functionality you should go with the G502 Hero or the G502 Lightpseed.

The G502 has 11 programmable buttons, including a hyper-fast scroll wheel. Like the G604, the G502 can be customized fully using Logitech’s G HUB software.

One unique feature of the G502 is its adjustable weight system. It comes with five 3.6g weights that can be added or removed from the mouse to adjust its weight and balance to suit the user’s preference.

The mouse also features customizable RGB lighting, allowing users to personalize its appearance to match their gaming setup.

One major flaw with the G502 is that it charges via obsolete micro USB rather then a modern USB C cable! Unforgivable!!! I can’t believe I have to deal with this in 2023. Why on earth is the Logitech G502 still using a micro USB cable to charge? Did the designers suddenly wake up from a 5-year nap and not realize that we’ve moved on to USB-C cables? I mean, come on, Logitech! You’re supposed to be on the cutting edge of gaming technology! What’s next, are you going to tell me that your mice still use ball bearings? It’s time to get with the program and upgrade your charging cables, Logitech. It’s 2023, not 2010!

Despite this oversight, the Logitech G502 is overall a high-quality gaming mouse that offers a wide range of customization options and exceptional performance. Its adjustable weight system, programmable buttons, and HERO 25K sensor make it a popular choice among serious gamers.

  1. I think the G604 is the way to go; being able to use double AAs is just so convenient. And if you go dead you can swap out in 2 seconds and be up and running again.
